Our Mission StatementWater Depth SurveysThe History of Our WaterwayKeeping the Channel Navigatable

Welcome to the Friends of Bennett Creek (FOBC) web site. Our organization is dedicated to preserving Bennett Creek as a navigable waterway, supporting both recreational and commercial interests.

Through our History link, we provide a chronological record of the events leading to the successful completion of each dredging operation. Documentation, such as the Local Cooperation Agreement (LCA) which exists between the City of Suffolk and the Army Corps of Engineers is provided. The efforts of key persons and the resources expended to initiate and sustain this project are acknowledged.

Through our Survey link, we provide the most recent "official" water depth surveys, courtesy of the Army Corps of Engineers. To keep you coming back to our web site, we provide a Boater's Forecast, which contains weather and tidal information. Our Contacts link gives easy and direct access to us as well as other interesting web sites. Our Bulletin Board provides the latest updates, news and information concerning upcoming events.

Finally, we seek your support by way of Membership. It's free. Through membership, we are able to provide you with information regarding the condition of our waterway and are able to solicit your support when dredging is required. If you have questions or wish to seek membership as a FOBC member, please contact us.
